Document library controls

Hosted Document Library Pro includes several elements you can show above or below the table to help visitors search, sort and page through your documents. You switch these on or off in the Library Builder.

The available elements are:

  • Search box, the keyword search box at the top right of the table.
  • Page length, the “Show x entries” select box.
  • Totals, the count of documents shown below the table (such as “Showing 1 to 10 of 50 entries”).
  • Pagination, the paging buttons that appear below a multi-page table.
  • Reset button, the Reset link beside the search box that clears the current search and filters.
  • Footer, an optional row at the bottom of the table that repeats the column headings.

Table elements above and below

The search box lets visitors filter the table by keyword. In the Library Builder you can switch it on or off and choose where it sits. The position defaults to the top, and your options are:

  • Top. Above the table, top right.
  • Bottom. Below the table, bottom right.
  • Both. Above and below the table.
  • Off. Hide the search box.

Display page length

The page length setting controls the “Show x entries” dropdown and where it appears. The position defaults to the top, and your options are:

  • Top. Above the table, top left.
  • Bottom. Below the table, bottom left.
  • Both. Above and below the table.
  • Off. Hide the dropdown.

Display totals

The totals setting controls the count of documents (such as “Showing 1 to 10 of 50 entries”) and where it appears. It defaults to the bottom, and your options are:

  • Top. Above the table, top left.
  • Bottom. Below the table, bottom left.
  • Both. Above and below the table.
  • Off. Hide the totals.

Display pagination

The pagination setting controls the paging buttons and where they appear. It defaults to the bottom, and your options are:

  • Top. Above the table, top right.
  • Bottom. Below the table, bottom right.
  • Both. Above and below the table.
  • Off. Hide the buttons.

Paging type

The paging type setting controls the style of pagination. Choose from five styles:

  • Numbers. Page numbers only.
  • Simple. Previous and Next only.
  • Simple with numbers. Previous and Next buttons plus page numbers (the default).
  • Full. First, Previous, Next and Last buttons.
  • Full with numbers. First, Previous, Next and Last buttons plus page numbers.

Reset button

The Reset button appears above the table and clears the current search and filters. It is shown by default, and you can hide it in the Library Builder.

For the table layout only, the footer setting repeats the column headings at the bottom of the table as well as the top. It is hidden by default, and you can switch it on in the Library Builder.
