Welcome to Document Library Pro. Everything runs on our platform, so there is nothing to install and no software to maintain. This guide takes you all the way from sign up to a live, searchable document library, and most people have theirs up and running in well under an hour.

Create your library
After you sign up and set your password, the Finish setting up your library screen asks for two things: a Library name and a web address (a short slug such as acme, which becomes acme.documentlibrary.app). Click Create My Library and we build it for you. This usually takes around twenty seconds.
Choose how your library looks
A short setup wizard then walks you through the basics. Nothing here is permanent, so do not worry about getting it perfect now:
- Layout. Show your documents as a table (ideal for long lists people scan and search) or as a grid of cards (ideal for visual collections such as reports or brochures).
- Columns. Choose what to show for each document, for example its title, categories, file type, file size, and a download button.
- Filters and search. Decide how visitors narrow things down, such as by category or document type.
You can change all of this later under Paramètres. Finish the wizard and click View Library to see your library.
Add your documents
Open Documents and click Add a document. For each document you can:
- Upload a file (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images and more), or link to a document that lives elsewhere, such as a Google Drive file or a video.
- Give it a clear title and description so it is easy to find.
- Organize it with categories and tags, which also power your filters.
You can add documents one at a time, or import many at once to get going quickly. See adding documents to your library for the full walkthrough.
Publish your library
There are two ways to share your library, and you can use either or both:
- Share it as a ready-made page. Your library has its own web address from the moment it is created, so you can publish it and simply send people the link. There is nothing else to set up.
- Embed it on your own website. Copy your embed code from Publier la bibliothèque and paste it into any page, on any platform, including WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, Webflow and more. Your library then appears right inside your own site.
See publishing your library and getting your embed code for step-by-step instructions for your platform.

Control who can access your documents
If some documents are private, you can password protect your whole library from Access Control, or a specific library from Publier la bibliothèque. Visitors then need the password before they can view or download them. See access control to learn more.
Find your way around
Your dashboard home shows quick actions and a running count of your documents, categories and tags. The menu gives you Documents, Publier la bibliothèque, Libraries, Access Control et Paramètres, with your Billing and profile under Account. If you need more than one library, you can create multiple libraries from the same account.
