Accent-insensitive search

Accent-insensitive search improves how the search box behaves by treating accented and plain characters as the same. This is useful for content in languages that use accents, since visitors can find what they want whether or not they type the accent.

What it does

When accent-insensitive search is turned on, the search box matches accented characters with their plain equivalents. For example, a search for “Zurich” also returns results such as “Zürich”.

How to turn it on

Open the settings and design page for your library, go to the advanced settings, and switch on accent-insensitive search.
