Terms of Business
Last updated: 14 June 2026
These terms govern your use of the Document Library Pro hosted service (the “Service”), provided by Barn2 Media Limited. By subscribing to or using the Service, you agree to these terms. These terms cover our hosted service only. If you are looking for the terms for the Document Library Pro WordPress plugin, please see the WordPress plugin terms of business on Barn2.com.
1. About us
The Service is operated by Barn2 Media Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08565444, UK VAT number GB188117584, EU VAT number EU372023207), with its registered office at Harscombe House, 1 Darklake View, Estover, Plymouth PL6 7TL, United Kingdom. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Barn2 Media Limited, and “you” refers to the person or organisation using the Service.
2. The Service
Document Library Pro (hosted) is a subscription service that lets you create a searchable, filterable document library which we host on your behalf. You can embed your library on your own website, or share it as a standalone page on your own domain or ours. The hosted Service is built on our Document Library Pro software.
3. Use of trademarks
Barn2 is an independent software company. We are not officially endorsed by or affiliated with WordPress, the WordPress Foundation, Automattic, WooCommerce, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Framer, or any other platform mentioned on our website. WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Framer and related trademarks are the property of their respective owners, and we make no claim to them. Our Service is designed to work alongside these platforms, but is developed and supported independently.
4. Your account
You must provide accurate account details and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or have the authority to enter into these terms on behalf of an organisation.
5. Free trial
Where we offer a free trial (currently 14 days), you may try the Service during the trial period. Only one free trial is available per customer. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your paid subscription will begin and your chosen payment method will be charged.
6. Your content and ownership
You own the documents, files and data you upload to your library (“Your Content”), and nothing in these terms transfers ownership of Your Content to us. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display Your Content solely as needed to provide the Service to you. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and share Your Content, and that it is lawful and does not infringe anyone’s rights. How we handle Your Content and any personal data within it is explained in our Privacy Policy.
7. Storage
Each plan includes 5 GB of storage for the documents you upload to your library. If you need to store more than this, just contact us and we will provide a quote for additional storage based on the amount you need. Documents that you host elsewhere (for example on Dropbox or Google Drive) and simply link to from your library do not count towards your storage allowance, so there is no limit on the number or size of externally hosted files.
8. Subscriptions, billing and renewals
The Service is provided on a recurring subscription basis. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period using your payment method, unless cancelled beforehand. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your full card details. Prices are shown at checkout and may be subject to applicable taxes.
9. Cancellation and data deletion
You can cancel at any time through your account billing portal or by contacting us. When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period, and your library stays online until then. After that, your hosted library will simply stop appearing on your website and standalone page; nothing is shown in its place and no message is displayed to your visitors.
If a renewal payment cannot be collected, we will automatically retry it and email you over a period of around two weeks before your subscription ends. Your library stays online throughout this time, so a temporary card problem will not interrupt it.
Once your subscription has ended, we keep your documents and settings for 90 days, so you can reactivate and pick up exactly where you left off. After 90 days, your library, documents and settings are permanently deleted. You can also ask us to delete your data sooner.
10. Refunds
If you change your mind for any reason, we will be happy to provide a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase. Refunds on automatic renewal payments will be subject to a 15% administrative fee to cover processing time and unrecoverable payment fees. To avoid this, please cancel your subscription before the renewal date if you do not wish to renew.
11. Price changes
We may change the price of the Service from time to time. If we change the price that applies to an existing subscription, we will give you at least 90 days’ notice before the new price takes effect, so you can decide whether to continue. Your renewals will stay at your current price until that notice period has passed.
12. Service delivery
As soon as your trial or subscription begins, you will receive access to your hosted dashboard, where you can create and manage your library, upload documents, and generate the embed code or standalone library page for your website. You can access and manage your library for as long as your subscription remains active. We will also email you the details you need to get started.
13. Support
We provide support to active subscribers through the Barn2 support centre. Support includes:
- Help with setting up, configuring and using the Service.
- Help embedding your library on your website, or sharing it as a standalone page.
- Help with any issues that relate specifically to the Service.
- Advice on how to get the most out of your document library.
- Supporting up to two people at your organisation per account (for example, the account owner and their web developer).
Support does not include building or customising your website, bespoke development, design work beyond the Service’s built-in options, or fixing issues caused by third-party platforms, themes or plugins outside our control. If you would like hands-on help getting your library set up, we offer a paid setup service on request.
14. Timescales
We aim to respond to all support requests within one working day. Our official support hours are 4am to 5pm UTC, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays and other official holidays. While we do not guarantee that any request will be resolved within a specific timescale, we will always acknowledge it and work with you to resolve the issue.
15. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to store or share unlawful, infringing, harmful or malicious content, to send spam, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or to other accounts, or to disrupt or overload our systems. We may suspend or remove content or accounts that breach this clause.
16. Availability and support
We work hard to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and the Service is provided “as is”. We may make changes and improvements to the Service from time to time. We recommend you keep your own backup copies of important documents.
17. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if a payment fails and is not resolved, if you breach these terms, or where required by law. Where your access ends, the data deletion timescales in clause 9 apply.
18. Intellectual property
The Service, including the Document Library Pro software, design and branding, is and remains the property of Barn2 Media Limited. These terms do not transfer any ownership of our software or intellectual property to you. The underlying Document Library Pro plugin is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later; our hosted Service, branding and trademarks are not.
19. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
20. Severability
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, all remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the current version on this page with the date it was last updated, and where changes are significant we will let you know. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
22. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
23. Contact
If you have any questions about these terms, please get in touch through the Barn2 support centre.
