Document Library Pro comes with five languages fully translated and provided for you: English, Nederlands, Deutsch, Fran\u00e7ais, Italiano or Espa\u00f1ol. You can also translate the front end of your document libraries into one or more additional languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choose a built-in language<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

New customers choose their main language in the setup wizard. The setup wizard opens the first time you go to your dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the first step, Your library<\/strong>, use the Hoofdtaal<\/strong> field. It is the last field on that step and is already set to a best guess, so most people can click Volgende<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choosing a different language switches the setup wizard straight away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can change your language at any time later in Settings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This translates your dashboard, every library, and the emails we send.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If your language is not listed, add your own language instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. In the left menu, click Instellingen<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    3. In de Language<\/strong> field, enter the name of the language (e.g. “Swedish”). This is for your own reference and won’t be displayed anywhere.
      Vink aan Right-to-left language<\/strong> if the language reads from right to left, for example Arabic or Hebrew.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Click each section to open it: Counts and paging<\/strong>, Zoeken en filters<\/strong>, Buttons and downloads<\/strong>, Empty and loading states<\/strong>, Views and sorting<\/strong>, en Rows and selection<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Change the text you want to translate. Leave any text you do not want to change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Klik Opslaan<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Every field starts filled in with the wording that visitors see now. A number badge on each section shows how many texts strings you have translated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Some text strings contain content that the library fills in automatically. For example, the library adds the numbers in Showing 1-25 of 340<\/strong>, the category name in Filter by Categories<\/strong> and the search term. These parts show as locked boxes. You can type before and after them, and you can move them left or right with their arrows to suit your language’s word order, but you cannot edit or delete them. Under those fields, Visitors see:<\/strong> previews the result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      By default, a custom language applies to the main library, which contains all documents. If you have multiple libraries then you can choose which libraries each language will be used for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Note: <\/strong>The translations page does not allow you to translate the column headers of your document library tables. Instead you should rename the columns in the appropriate language on the Display<\/strong> tab (if you only have one library) or in each individual library. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Make your libraries multilingual<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Use this setup when your website or intranet is in more than one language and you want a library in each language. It works on any site that accepts an embed code, including WordPress, Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, and custom sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The way it works is that you embed a document library in the appropriate language in one of your pages for that language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. In the Document Library Pro dashboard, create one or more document categories for each language. In the left menu, click Documenten<\/strong>, en daarna Categorie\u00ebn<\/strong>. Enter the Naam<\/strong>, en klik daarna op Add New Category<\/strong>. For example, create categories called “French” and “Catalan” with as many sub-categories as required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Add documents in each language (Documenten<\/strong> then Add Document<\/strong><\/a>) or via the Bulk Upload section if you’re on the Advanced plan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Create a library for each language (Bibliotheken<\/strong>, en daarna Create Library<\/strong><\/a>). On the Documenten<\/strong> step, under Categorie\u00ebn<\/strong>, choose that language’s category. On the Display<\/strong> step, click each column in the Kolommen<\/strong> list and type its heading in that language.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Op het Instellingen<\/strong> page, click the Translations<\/strong> tab. For each language other than your Library language<\/strong>, klik op Add another language<\/strong>, fill in its text, and under Bibliotheken<\/strong>, tick the library for that language. The library in your Library language<\/strong> needs nothing here.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. Add each library to your site. In the left menu, click Bibliotheken<\/strong>. Copy the code in the Insluitcode<\/strong> column, then paste it into a page<\/a> in that language on your website\/intranet.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        When you have more than one language, you can tick Also use for any library not listed in another language<\/strong> to make one language the fallback. Otherwise, libraries under no language use your Library language<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
