When you use the table layout, Document Library Pro automatically sizes each column for the best fit. If you would rather control the widths yourself, you can override this and give specific columns more or less space. For example, you might widen the content column when there is a lot of text to show.<\/p>\n
To override the automatic widths, open the column editor in the Library Builder, click to edit the column you want to change, and set a custom width in its advanced settings. You can enter the width as either a percentage or a number of pixels. Leaving a column on automatic lets the plugin work out the best width for it.<\/p>\n
For example, with a title, content and date column, you might set the title to 20 percent, the content to 50 percent and the date to 30 percent. Or you could fix the first column at 50 pixels and leave the rest on automatic.<\/p>\n
If a width you set isn’t taking effect, it is probably too narrow for the content to fit. Rather than letting the column look broken, the plugin widens it so everything fits. Try increasing the width of the affected column.<\/p>\n
Widths are worked out for each library on its own. If you have more than one library on a page and want their columns to match, give each one the same custom widths.<\/p>\n
This can happen when a column holds a different amount of text for each document. The width is based on the documents currently shown, so it can shift when you move between pages or apply a filter.
